Ranking Every Opening Number in Dancing With The Stars Season 31
Reading Time: 3 minutes
Every Dancing With The Stars episode begins with a dance act to set the mood of the competition. We ranked all the opening numbers we’ve witnessed during season 31 of the series. Let’s recall the thrill that these performances gave us when we first watched them.
8. Disney+ Night
This theme was a little extra and extremely meta for DWTS. The opening number kicked off with a roleplay by judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who presses her tv control from one Disney film to another. The mini sketch also featured the remaining pairs, all dressed as Disney characters.
7. Prom Night
Having Prom Night as a theme of Stars’ Stories week, certainly brought us back to high school. At the beginning of the episode, pros moved to “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” by ABBA. After their individual dances were over, pairs walked their way to the ballroom while vibing to the song. Later, the hosts danced out to the same song.
6. 90’s Night
The opening number for 90’s night is nowhere near boring as Prom and Disney+ nights. Hip-hop band Salt-N-Pepa and R&B quartet En Vogue performed live to “Whatta Man” alongside DWTS professional dancers. Truly, 90s night opening number was one of the most vibrant productions during season 31.
5. Premiere Night
The first episode of Dancing With The Stars teased a great season with the premiere night’s opening number. Dancing to Lizzo’s “About Damn Time,” the pros performed a promising number, perfect to set the mood of the competition.
4. Elvis Night
Week two of the competition kicked off with an energetic performance to “Also Sprach Zarathustra” and “Don’t Be Cruel.” Male professional dancers of the series are all dressed in Elvis Presley’s signature American Eagle Jumpsuit. This enthusiastic performance was truly a preview of a much-anticipated Elvis Night.
3. Bublé Night
Disney+ kicked off episode seven of DWTS featuring Michael Bublé himself. Female professional dancers, all dressed in red, truly made this performance. There was no other way to begin the theme night than with the singer himself.
2. Finale
The gleaming and sparkling lights in the ballroom definitely brought a wild energy for Finale Night. The opening number featured the show’s professional dancers who moved to “Everybody Dance” by Cedric Gervais & Franklin ft. Nile Rodgers. This dance production is definitely the best way to start the Finals.
1. Bond Night
The Bond Night opening number is arguably the best among the opening acts of DWTS season 31. Running around like a spy, Derek Hough impressed everyone when he rappelled down to the ballroom and joined Peta Murgatroyd for a dance act. The smokey vibe of the stage further added to the heat of the performance.
