Former First Lady of the United States of America (USA) Michelle Obama has paid tribute to her father in an emotional message ahead of Father's Day, which falls on June 20 this year.

Michelle tweeted an awesome photo with her father and discussed what she learnt from him in his honour, saying she had been thinking a lot about her father as Father's Day approaches.

She then enumerated things she misses about her father, including his baritone voice, humour, and ability to set the proper mood in a room by playing the ideal record.

The note on her heartwarming post read:

"... I’m thinking a lot about my dad: his baritone voice, his laugh that filled up the room, the way he always knew how to set the right mood by spinning up the perfect record."

Lessons learned from her father

She went on to say that her father always gave her sound advice, encouraged her to ask questions, and instilled in her the importance of hard work.

"My father gave great advice, taught me the value of hard work, encouraged me to ask questions, and always gave me the space to do so," she added.

According to her, she always thought her dad was so cool.
