Former prime minister Raila Odinga has continued with his war of words with Deputy President William Ruto over unfulfilled promises made by the Jubilee government.

While responding to the second in command that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) had derailed the state's agenda through focusing on non- priorities after the famous March 2018 handshake, Raila lashed out at the DP for peddling "lies".

"Mr Six months! (Raila's new nickname for Ruto), the youngsters you promised laptops eight years ago are now old enough to see through your lies. The youth you promised eight million jobs in eight yrs can see through the wheelbarrow lie you are now peddling. It has been eight yrs Mr Six months and not three years. No Mr Six months!" Raila sarcastically stated.

Ruto blames ODM for Jubilee failures

Ruto had on Friday, January 22, asked the Opposition to own its role in derailing the government's agenda arguing they should not running away from the reality.

In this, the Jubilee deputy party leader claimed ODM through its party leader Raila Odinga changed Jubilee government's priorities by advancing the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) agenda.

The deputy president argued were it not for the handshake report, President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration would have delivered on its promises.

He noted the Orange party would pay dearly for the failures of Jubilee government for the last three years.

"They pushed their way into government through the handshake, they took over committees of parliament, they took over the running of government. Three years down the line, because they have failed miserably, they now want to run away from their own failure. They are now trying to say Jubilee has not done this, which Jubilee are you talking about?" Ruto posed at a funeral in Kwhiseo, Kakamega.
