William Ruto reunites with Wareng high schoolmate during Vihiga visit

After over 35 years, Deputy President William Ruto has finally reunited with his high schoolmate during his visit to Luanda, Vihiga county.

The DP met Sospeter Ojuwang who they studied together at Wareng Secondary School which he joined in 1981 before sitting for his exams in 1984.

"Delighted to meet and reunite with Sospeter Ojuwang, a former schoolmate at Wareng High School, Eldoret, during my visit to Luanda, Vihiga county. We reminisced on the good days of our youth, enjoyed a hearty laugh and wished him well," said Ruto in a Twitter post.

The two were in the same school where Ruto sat for his ‘O’-level exams in 1984 before proceeding to Kapsabet Boys High School.

He sat for A-level exams in 1986 and then proceeded to University of Nairobi where he studied botany and zoology and graduated in 1990.

At the university, he was a staunch African Inland Church(AIC) member and was elected the leader of the University Christian Union choir.

After university, Ruto taught at Sirgoi and Kamagut Secondary Schools in the North Rift. He, at the same time, founded African Venture Tours and Hotels.

He enrolled for a masters degree in botany and graduated in 2011 and later a PhD which he was awarded in 2018.
