Kakamega Governor Wycliff Oparanya, several leaders attend burial of quintuplet's mother
Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya lead a group of leaders from the region in bidding farewell to quintuplets mother, Evaline Namukhula, as she was laid to rest.
The late Namukhula was buried on Wednesday, April 17, at Isokhe village, Kakamega, with her burial a county affair.

Addressing mourners at the funeral, Oparanya said his county government would ensure the welfare of the children she left behind was well-taken care of.
“Our immediate resolve is to ensure that in the next one and half years, we will cater for food expenses of Evaline’s children and pay those who will be taking care of them”, said the governor.He also said the county government was currently completing the construction of a bigger house that will shelter the family of the deceased and the babysitters.

The Council of Governors chair also promised to incorporate Evaline’s husband in the county youth program that will see him earn income to support his young family.
The county boss further urged residents to genuinely support the family at this time of need without hidden motives
He also pledged to ensure the three surviving children out of the five born by the deceased would only leave hospital after being deemed fit by doctors.

"These children are ours, our responsibility as a county government we will take care of them", said Oparanya.Evaline aged 28 made headlines when she gave birth to five children in Kakamega General Hospital on March 13, 2019.
Two of her quintuplets died and were buried on Tuesday, March 16, at night according to Luhya traditions.

Evaline died on April 9, 2019, of breathing complications at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
According to Dr Benson Macharia who conducted the post-mortem, she succumbed to weakness of the heart muscles.
