"To be frank, my primary and secondary school were not exactly hard nuts to crack. I effortlessly thrived through, but the University came with a different narrative. Here were people who came from different parts of the world and with different levels of commitment. There was also that the University had an unfamiliar system that required getting used to. All of these uncertainties were novel but what were my most challenging moments was when I became actively involved in extracurricular activities. "I edited my school's paper for nearly three years and that meant I had to attend most school functions for media coverage, even those that coincided with lecture time. I remember attending a conference at the time and listening to the speaker say that anyone who partakes in campus journalism actively cannot graduate with their desired result. Rather than let that shake my drive, it became a motivation for me. I not only participated in journalism, but did every other thing I was holding back from; started a book club, upgraded it to a nonprofit, started a bookstore, organised a book festival twice in a row, etc., all of that while still maintaining excellent grades in the classroom."Former Nigerian teacher reunites with primary 4 student after 16 years, speaks on her transformation
