13 Burnt To Death In Enugu Road Accident

A tragic road accident on Sunday night in Enugu State reportedly claimed no less than thirteen lives.

Naija News learnt that a 14-seater bus fully loaded with passengers caught fire in a fatal accident near the Four-Corners Enugu at about 9 pm last night, burning the victims to death.

The vehicle, according to reports, was travelling from Imo State to Adamawa when it ran into a trailer before going up in flames.

Only a passenger reportedly escaped death in the accident, which occurred at the Enugu end of the Enugu/Port Harcourt expressway.

Naija News understands there were controversies surrounding the escape of the only survivor as some claimed sympathizers rescued him while others told newsmen that he jumped out of the vehicle from the window.

According to Daily Post, the lone survivor is currently receiving treatment at the Emergency Unit of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Ituku-Ozalla.

A man was reportedly blinded by an arrow while others were killed In a communal clash between two border communities of Gamawa and Zaki LGAs of Bauchi State.

The state police spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakili, who could not confirm the number of deaths, explained that the clash was between the youths of the Tarbuwa community in the Zaki local government area sharing a boundary with the Kubdiya community in the Gamawa local government area.

He maintained that the two communities used various dangerous weapons such as bows and arrows, clubs, sticks and others to attack each other, leading to death and injuries on both parties

Wakili, however, stated that the situation had been put under control as security operatives have been dispatched to the area
